Denise and the dream

We had our first meeting with 6 people that have Diabetes, 3 of which had to walk from the next town over. We talked with them about how they could change their lifestyle to improve their health and gave them a weekly chart so they could be accountable for how much they participated in the program. We plan to meet with them once a week for 8 weeks and also provide several cooking demonstrations. Please pray for the success of this program, and we want it to be a testimony to others on how to prevent illness.

As we ended our last blog and reported that Don Martin had passed away, the day after we went to go sing to the other sick lady, but she had already passed away as well. We attended the wake that evening and her family was very pleased to see us there helping them grieve for their loved one. We pray the door will stay open for us to continue to minister to them in some way.

Last week, we finished our first English classes and registered for the next. There was a huge turn out of new students, as well as returning students. Registration closed with over 80 people, some of whom are from other other villages (about 20 minutes driving). Our students range in age from 5 to 54. It is a 5 week program. If anyone is interested in teaching English, we have an extra bedroom! :) Please pray for us, because we would like to start to visit families of those that registered.

On Monday evening, we returned to Laurel for a regular Bible study with Denise (14), her mother, and a few other family members. Denise had been interested in DVDs about Jesus, so we watched the Final Events DVD. When Tammey asked if the DVD was clear, Denise told us that she had just dreamed the same thing. In her dream, there was no food to be found. We didn’t have to convince them that we are living in the last days, because the DVD confirmed her dream. “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy.” Acts 2:17-18

On Sabbath, the Lord blessed up with some unexpected visitors. We originally intended to bring a family to church that had been studying the Bible, but their son was sick and they couldn’t go. Kate had agreed to sing at that church, so we still went there instead of our home church. It just so happened that 3 young men from Montemorelos had unexpectedly come to help that church as well. They sang some songs and one of them preached the sermon. All three of us had a strong impression to invite them over for lunch afterwards, so we did. We had already prepared food for the other family that couldn’t come, so we had plenty. It was a blessing to hear their testimonies, sing songs and pray with them. It was truly a Sabbath blessing.
