Day 5: On the Road
Today was indeed a long day. First, we had to say goodbye to Dawn, who had been an excellent host the past few days.
We left our friends in Phoenix and set out across Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. The drive was really a lot of the same and more of the same, so we alternated listening to the testimony of Cheri Peters and music. We did see some interesting signs, but fortunately, there were no dust storms and visibility was good.
When we entered into Texas, we saw several border crossings, but won’t have to deal with that for a few days yet. We did have to stop at the inland border control checkpoint, but we passed through without a hitch. Hopefully God will allow the actual border crossing to go that smooth.
It is quite late now, so I will be heading to bed soon. It took a while to find a hotel with vacancy, but God provided a reasonably priced hotel with internet and breakfast that only had a $5 pet fee! Nice.
