There has been a lot of work done on the roads here. Praise the Lord, the main road that runs through Mazumiapan was one of the roads that was finally finshed just a few weeks ago! As we took the newly paved road out to Laurel for a Bible study one afternoon I enjoyed the bump free ride and the wide girth of the road, but I noticed that the road ended in Laurel. I mean it literally came to a dead end. There are no street lights here; at evening time someone could get hurt if they weren’t aware of the sudden end.
Looking around I spotted the old road that extends out to the other villages just past Laurel. The old road is narrower and you have to watch and pray as you drive on the road because there are potholes along the way that you need to avoid to get to your destination. Lots of people travel on the nice new wde road. The narrow road does not have as many people traveling on it, but it does have access to more people. The Bible tells us there are two roads also. Matthew 7:13-14 says “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” The wide road dead ends at a place of destruction. The narrow way leads to eternal life, but the traveler will experience “potholes” along the way. You must watch and pray to get to their destination, but at the end of the road there will be great rejoicing!
My friends, Jesus is coming soon! Do not take the wide road, take the narrow road and along the road of life point people to “the Way”, Jesus Christ. ”Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6
